Applicant: City of Chilliwack

Purpose: To amend the Zoning Bylaw and comply with the new Provincial legislation regarding small-scale multi-unit housing, allowing up to 3 or 4 dwelling units on parcels within the urban boundary that are zoned for single-detached and duplex housing.

In November of 2023, the Provincial Government passed newhousing legislation that applies across the province and impacts the City of Chilliwack. Local governments, including Chilliwack, must update their zoning bylaws by June 30th, 2024, to meet the new Provincial legislation.
