'Wrong house' targeted in Chilliwack home invasion: RCMP

The two men who broke into a house on Bayshore Avenue demanding cash from the occupants had the wrong house, RCMP investigators said.

A home invasion by two armed men in Chilliwack Saturday night was a homeowner's nightmare.

The two men who entered the Bayshore Avenue home just after 11 p.m. had the wrong house.

"Through the investigation, police have determined that the suspects involved had the wrong residence," RCMP Const. Tracy Wolbeck said.

"I can't imagine a more terrifying experience for these people," she said.

"Although nobody in the residence was physically injured, it's going to take them a long time to recover mentally."

The two men demanded cash from the six occupants, and then fled the scene.

One of the suspects was wearing a baseball cap, and had a medium build with brown hair and stubble on his face.

The second suspect was about six feet tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sweat pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
