Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the eastern Fraser Valley Saturday (Feb. 6).
From Abbotsford to Hope, people can expect to see temperatures drop for the remainder of the weekend and into next week as Arctic air moves in.
“Following a relatively mild first half of winter, a transition to much colder conditions will begin throughout B.C.,” the statement reads. “Cold Arctic air is currently pushing southwards across the Interior, and towards the B.C. coast through the remainder of the weekend. The cold air will be in place throughout the province by Monday, and persist for the remainder of the week.”
Here in the Fraser Valley, there’s a chance of flurries overnight tonight (Saturday) and into tomorrow. There’s a 60 per cent chance of rain and flurries during the day Sunday (Feb. 7).
Come Monday, the Fraser Valley is in for sunny, but cold, weather as temperatures are expected drop between -2 C to 3 C from Monday to Friday.
