Former Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper says the party remains "strong and united" even in the face of last fall's election defeat.
He made the comments to hundreds of delegates at the party's convention in his first public speech since he stepped down as party leader in October.
The 57-year-old did not address what's in store for him next, saying only that he is enjoying not being centre stage any more.
The Tories are gathered for three days in Vancouver to update their party policies and constitution, and will chose a full-time replacement for Harper in 2017.
