Valley Huskers fall in finale

Some bright moments dotted a season-ending loss to the mighty Langley Rams at Exhibition Stadium.

Chilliwack’s Valley Huskers ended the 2014 BC Football Conference schedule with a loss, falling 48-17 to the playoff-bound Langley Rams.

The Huskers (1-9) hosted the Rams (7-3) Saturday night at Exhibition Stadium, and  made the visitors work for the win.

The Rams led 10-3 through one quarter and 24-10 at half-time before finally pulling away.

They did so with a ground game that produced two 100 yard rushers.

Jordan Traversy rolled up 154 yards on 14 carries with Nathan Lund also topping the century mark. Lund, Traversy and Jacob Patko each had rushing TDs.

The Huskers got 100 yards from their running back, Benedict Muhima, with most of it coming on one carry.

The shifty back ripped off an 89 yard touchdown run, finishing with 103 yards on just three carries.

In his final BCFC start, Chilliwack quarterback Dylan La Prairie completed 13 of 31 passes for 166 yards and a TD to Cody Vinish.

Dan Erickson booted a 37 yard field goal.

Sharif Ali led the Husker D with 10 solo tackles, with Daniel Mills adding an interception.
