It's a snow day, again, for Chilliwack students.

Chilliwack School District announced the closure just before 2 p.m. on Monday, following a day of closures at all school sites.

"This message is to confirm that Chilliwack SD#33 will be closing its schools and sites for Tuesday, February 7, 2017 for students, staff and all activities," the message read.

They said despite the extra resources poured into clearing school sites, it wasn't possible to get it all done for Tuesday.

"District staff have worked diligently to clear school sites, parking areas, and sidewalks but due to the sheer volume of snow, crews require one additional day to ensure school sites are safe and accessible for staff and students. Furthermore, all bus routes have not been cleared," an emailed statement read.

The Board meeting scheduled for February 7, 2017 is also cancelled. The Regular schedule of Board Meetings will resume on February 21, 2017. Tuesday's meeting was to include a presentation of the school reconfiguration study and a second reading of an amended budget for this school year.

Monday had several school closures all across the Fraser Valley and Vancouver area, including UFV campuses. At 4:30 p.m., UFV announced all campuses would again be closed on Tuesday, citing high snow volume, severe weather and road conditions.

"Our snow removal teams have been working hard to clear parking lots and walkways today, but the sheer volume of snow is making it difficult to safely return to a regular class schedule," an update on the university's website states. The next update on classes will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fraser Valley Regional Library also closed their sites for the day on Monday, as did Chilliwack Community Services, Bailey Landfill, and Parr Road Green Depot.
