RCMP have confirmed that the person who died in a car crash on Tuesday morning was from Chilliwack.
The 30-year-old woman died from injuries sustained when her vehicle "suddenly went off Highway 1," RCMP said in a statement.
Two other people were injured in the three-car crash. They were expected to be released from hospital later Tuesday.
The crash brought traffic to a standstill heading westbound on Highway 1 out of Chilliwack, between Lickman Road and the Yale Road West overpass. It occurred around 7:45 a.m., and RCMP are hoping to hear from more witnesses.
The highway opened at 1 p.m. The B.C. Coroners Service is also involved in the investigation.
