BC Paramedics and RCMP attended at the scene of an apparent stabbing on the Skwah Reserve in Chilliwack Wednesday morning.

Chilliwack RCMP and BC Ambulance crews descended on a property on the Skwah First Nation Wednesday morning in response to a report of a stabbing.

Early reports were that a 25-year-old male was stabbed multiple times at the house on Landing Drive just after 9 a.m.

Chilliwack RCMP said Thursday the man was taken by paramedics to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe the incident was targeted but it is very early in the investigation so no more details were released, including whether or not someone is in custody.

(An earlier version of this story pointed to a report that it was a 39-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries but that has been ruled out.)

Chilliwack Fire Department crews set up a landing zone for a medevac in the field at McCammon Elementary school after the incident. The school was briefly in lockdown but the medevac was called off quickly and the patient was transported to hospital in ambulance.
