A 54-year-old Chilliwack woman found unresponsive on railway tracks near the Broadway Street crossing Tuesday has died.

Chilliwack RCMP say there is nothing suspicious about the incident, however they are continuing their investigation.

The woman was found on the tracks by a couple who  were walking along Broadway Street when they saw what appeared to be someone lying on the tracks.

"It appeared the lady fell on the tracks and hit her head," the couple, who asked their names not be published, said, "but she was still warm and breathing when we found her."

Police arrived within minutes of being called and began CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived.  The woman was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Chilliwack RCMP Const. Tracy Wolbeck said no foul play is suspected. No further details were immediately available.
