A man who killed his son and who was wanted by Corrections Canada for a breach while on parole in the Chilliwack area is back in custody.
Rourke Desmanche, 29, was convicted in February 2013 of manslaughter for shaking to death his baby named Kurious George Rose-Desmanche.

Desmanche was out on parole being supervised in Chilliwack when he is alleged to have breached that parole.
He was spotted early Sunday in Victoria by a Victoria Police K9 unit and arrested without incident.

A warrant for his arrest was issued last week, and Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers reported on Jan. 14 that he has been apprehended.
An update post on the Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers page stated that the post about Desmanche received a reach of 375,000 people on Facebook.
“Your anonymous tips make a difference,” the post stated.
Desmanche’s case was outlined in the London Free Press in 2014 that stated he was convicted of manslaughter for shaking his 10-week-old baby on Aug. 2, 2010.
He fled, and at the time of the incident he was not supposed to be near the home of the baby’s mother
