Transit users surveyed on Chilliwack bus service changes

Service improvements, like the new 20-minute service on the Yale/Vedder route in Chilliwack, came into effect in July.

Transit riders are being urged to tell BC Transit what they think of recent service changes in Chilliwack.

Avid users may even be surveyed on local buses for "face-to-face input" over the next few days.

"We are conducting ridership surveys," said BC Transit spokesperson Meribeth Burton. "The information you provide to us will guide the direction of transit in Chilliwack to help meet the changing needs of your community."

Service improvements, like the new 20-minute service on the Yale/Vedder route, came into effect in July, including 2,500 extra service hours and a new bus added to the six-bus fleet.

"We also want to know how the changes are working for you," she said in the news release.

BC Transit is encouraging all Chilliwack residents to participate. One lucky participant is set to win a free monthly transit pass.

Take the survey online at www.bctransit.com/regions/chw to respond, or fill out a survey at Chilliwack City Hall until October 2. The surveys ask  about riders' travel habits and motivations.
