Town hall meeting set for tonight

Property owners impacted by flooding and erosion at Carey Point will be heading to Camp River Hall tonight at 7 p.m.

Up-to-date details on the Fraser freshet in Chilliwack will be shared with the community at a town hall meeting tonight.

Property owners impacted by ongoing erosion and the threat of flooding at Carey Point are invited to Camp River Hall at 7 p.m.

City staff will have an update on current river conditions, the river forecast and the city's emergency response efforts.

They'll also touch on potential protection solutions, as well as possible funding sources.

The town hall meeting is Thursday, June 9, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 50246 Camp River Road.

About 17 properties have so far been affected by the erosion and flooding, says city staff.
