Chilliwack RCMP are advising homeowners to be on the lookout for a young man going door-to-door offering to mow lawns for $20.
"What aroused suspicion with the residents is that the male had neither a lawn mower nor a vehicle," said RCMP Cpl. Len Vannieuwenhuizen.
Several complaints from residents were received last Sunday about the young man, who appeared to take an interest in the inside of his potential customers' homes.
The young man, described as a Caucasian about 20 years old had sandy blond hair and was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He was traveling on foot.
Police are also advising homeowners that, despite the hot weather, they should not leave windows and doors open, and should not allow any unknown persons inside their homes.
