RCMP is reminding drivers in Chilliwack that they still cannot access Abbotsford through Yarrow.

“Today both checkpoints into Yarrow (Keith Wilson Bridge and Vedder Mountain Road) were inundated with travellers using smartphone mapping applications to plan routes west of Chilliwack,” said RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Krista Vrolyk in a release on Friday night (Nov. 19). “While these apps currently show viable westbound routes from Chilliwack to Abbotsford via Yarrow that is simply not the case.”

There is presently no access to Abbotsford via Yarrow as roads west of Boundary Road are impassable and the area is currently under an evacuation order by the City of Abbotsford. Yarrow remains under evacuation alert.

“Please plan an alternate route,” Vrolyk said.
