Snowfall warning in effect for Lower Mainland

Five centimetres of snow is expected in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Monday

Many Lower Mainland residents woke up to grey skies and white roads this morning.

Environment Canada has declared a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley with up to five centimetres expected for both.

The weather has led SFU’s Burnaby campus to cancel classes for the day.

Several school districts in the Lower Mainland have non-instructional professional development days unrelated to this morning’s snowfall.

The Port Mann bridge, which has had issues with ice falling and damaging vehicles in the past, has remained mostly ice-free so far.
