Six months in jail for leaving gun at Langley casino

Kristopher Mino left his loaded handgun in a daytimer left between two slot machines.

A Chilliwack man was sentenced to 181 days in jail and an order to not set foot in any B.C. casino for one year after leaving a loaded gun at a slot machine at Cascades Casino last July.

On Feb. 10, Kristopher Mino pleaded guilty to several weapons charges laid after the July incident at the Langley City casino.

Police were called when a loaded .45 calibre handgun was found in a daytimer left between two slot machines. 

Langley Street Enforcement Unit assumed conduct of the investigation. Surveillance footage was reviewed and with the assistance of casino security staff, was able to identify the individual carrying the daytimer, with the loaded handgun as Mino.

He was sentenced to 181 days in jail (time served), one year probation which includes a condition not to attend any casino in British Columbia, a lifetime firearms prohibition, an order for his DNA and a $200 victim surcharge.

Mino has a long criminal history throughout Metro Vancouver.
