An arctic outflow warning remains in effect for Chilliwack Tuesday as strong winds hit the city leading, in one case, to cladding on the top floor a four-storey medical services building downtown to blow off.
A Chilliwack Fire Department crew was on scene on Mary Street around noon attempting to secure the loose siding back to the building.
The building entrance remained taped off as workers moved in to fix the problem.
The cold, clear, windy weather in the Eastern Fraser Valley is expected to continue through to Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Environment Canada reported winds of 40 to 60 kilometres per hour (km/h), gusting to 80 km/h.
Overnight the forecast is for the wind to continue with a low of minus 9 C, minus 20 C with the wind chill.
More of the same is predicted for Wednesday with temperatures starting to rise by the weekend.
