RCMP seize half kilo of cocaine, pill press at Chilliwack homes

Woman found with 96 grams of the drug facing charges

A woman caught with thousands of dollars worth of cocaine is facing criminal charges after an arrest that led to a home with more drugs, weapons and cash.

Evidence gathered by the RCMP’s Chilliwack Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) led to the arrest of the as-of-yet unnamed woman on May 24.

She was found with approximately 96 grams of drugs believed to be cocaine, cash, cellphones and a car, all of which was seized by police.

That arrest then led CRU investigators supported by the Chilliwack Quick Response Team (QRT) and General Duty (GD) officers to execute Canadian Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at two addresses, one in the 45000-block of Storey Avenue and the 7200-block of Chilliwack River Road.

There officers seized what is believed to be approximately 533 grams of cocaine, a pill pressing device, an estimated $10,000 Canadian and $2,500 U.S. currency, articles associated with drug trafficking, a rifle, brass knuckles, and a baton during the searches.

RCMP are submitting all circumstances of the investigation in a report to the BC Prosecution Service for their assessment of CDSA and Criminal Code charges.

“The RCMP investigation and subsequent seizures have prevented a significant quantity of drugs from reaching the streets of our community,” said RCMP Cpl. Mike Rail, spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment.
