RCMP seek witnesses to Hwy 1 crash Friday night in Chilliwack

A 46-year-old Chilliwack man is recovering in hospital with two broken legs after a single-vehicle crash near Lickman Road Friday night.

A 46-year-old Chilliwack man is recovering in hospital with two broken legs after a single-vehicle crash near Lickman Road Friday night.

"A 2010 Ford Fusion rolled end over end and slid on its roof into the median," RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen said.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle, and airlifted to Royal Columbian hospital. He was reported in stable condition Monday.

The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Highway 1 near Lickman Road just before midnight Friday.

An investigation by the RCMP's Fraser Valley Traffic Services continues.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident, and who have not yet talked to police, to call RCMP Const. Lee Keane at 604-702-4039.
