RCMP: Missing woman with mental disability found ‘safe and sound’

Amber Dawn Nowaselski who wandered away from a medical treatment facility in Chilliwack Saturday was found Monday thanks to a public tip.

“We really appreciate the help of the public and media in helping us locate missing person,” RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks said in a news release.

She said thanks to a public tip, Amber Dawn Nowaselski was found Monday in Chilliwack.

The 22-year-old was reported missing at about 1 p.m. Aug. 11.

The concern of police and caregivers was that Nowaselki has the mental age of a person aged 10-12 years and is “very social and will frequent shopping malls, restaurants and other areas where people congregate.”

Police did not release any further details.
