Power restored to parts of downtown Chilliwack

More than 3000 Chilliwack customers were without power.

Power was out for more than an hour in parts of Chilliwack Monday afternoon

Power has been restored to nearly 4,00 BC Hydro customers in downtown Chilliwack.

The power went back on at around 2:20 p.m. after going out 70 minutes earlier.

There were actually two outages in that overlapped is some areas.

The area affected was north of Hodgins and on either side of Young Road.

BC Hydro blamed the problem on an equipment failure, which could mean a failed transformer or line fuses.
