Police seek witnesses to mystery incident

RCMP are tight-lipped about what two people and a silver car may or may not have done Wednesday afternoon on the Vedder trail.

RCMP are looking for witnesses to an incident that happened Wednesday afternoon the Vedder River trail.

RCMP haven’t released specifics about the incident, which occurred at 4 p.m.on a part of the trail near Peach Road.

They have identified a 26-year-old Indo-Canadian woman and 40-year-old man who they believe were involved.

The woman was wearing maroon-coloured traditional clothing. The man is described as dark skinned with short black hair and a medium build.

A small silver vehicle was also involved, driving west on the trail in an area where vehicles are not permitted.

“As the area was quite busy at the time with fisherman at the river, police are seeking any witnesses who may have seen these individuals or the vehicle associated to the incident,” said RCMP Cpl. Cynthia Kershaw. “Anyone who has information can contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).”
