Chilliwack RCMP seek public assistance to identify female suspect in a theft from vehicle incident that occurred in Promontory.

The Chilliwack RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect in their investigation into the theft of property from a motor vehicle in Promontory.

The investigation stems from a call received by police on the morning of March 6, 2016 to report the theft of a wallet from a vehicle parked overnight in the 6100 block of Rexford Drive.

As the General Duty officer pursued the police investigation, evidence was gathered linking a female suspect to alleged purchases using the victim’s bank debit and credit cards at local businesses.

“The investigation included canvassing for security surveillance video from the businesses where the stolen cards had been used," said Cst. Jade Stewart. "During the viewing of the surveillance systems the image of the suspect was discovered.”

The suspect is described as:

  • female
  • approximately 25 years old
  • blond coloured hair tucked under a black peaked, red ball cap
  • a tattoo on the right side of her neck
  • wearing a black coloured hoodie with a white coloured skeletal design

“RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the female from the security camera whom, we believe, is associated to property stolen during the theft," said Corporal Mike Rail.

"RCMP have not ruled out the possibility this incident is linked to a break and enter reported the same morning in the 6000 block of Rexford Drive."

Anyone with information to this incident is urged to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
