One man dies in motorcycle collision in Abbotsford

One man is dead after a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Abbotsford on Sunday (June 4).

Patrol officers from the Abbotsford Police Department attended a collision at the Gladwin Road and Nanaimo Crescent intersection at approximately 6:27 p.m, according to a news release.

A 58-year-old man, the driver of the motorcycle, was transported to hospital but died from his injuries. The driver of the car, a 21-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is cooperating with police.

APD says speed is believed to be a factor in the collision and are being assisted by the Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) in the early stages of an investigation .

Gladwin Road was closed in both directions between Gatefield and Highland in the aftermath of the collision but reopened on Monday morning (June 5).
