Mudslides close Highway 1 between Hope and Chilliwack

Geotechnicians are on scene and an assessment is underway.

Highway 1 between Chilliwack and Hope is closed in both directions because of two overnight mudslides.

Alternate routes are available through Agassiz on Highways 9 and 7.

However motorists are reminded that construction near the Rosedale Bridge is adding to congestion.

Drive BC has no estimate when Highway 1 will reopen.
