Motorcyclist injured in crash, traffic backed up in Chilliwack

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a collision on Evans Road in Chilliwack Friday, July 16.

The crash between a motorcycle and a car happened shortly after 11 a.m. right outside Evans elementary school, south of Knight Road. Traffic was completely backed up between the Highway 1 overpass and Wells Road.

When Chilliwack Fire Department arrived on scene, folks were tending to the motorcyclist who was lying on the ground.

RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services were also on scene.

Traffic was backed up in the area and northbound traffic was being rerouted through the school parking lot. Southbound traffic was down to one lane south of Knight Road.
