One man has been arrested for breaking into multiple homes and assaulting people in South Surrey.
Police were called around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 26) in the area of King George Boulevard and 160 Street about a man breaking into several homes and assaulting people. Two people were on scene with what police described as minor injuries, which they were transported to hospital for.
A suspect was located the RCMP officers and arrested in what seems to be a "random" incident, which is still under investigation.
Posts about a reported home invasion were made to social media earlier Wednesday by a resident of the neighbourhood. According to this post, an elderly person was one of victims of the assault and was "dragged into the street."
The resident added that the victim was able to knock on a neighbour's door for assistance, with the neighbour reporting the victim being covered in blood.
Another person commented on the post claiming their home was also targeted by the same individual, who kicked their door in and got inside before fleeing after a few seconds.
Police confirmed that the assaults took place inside the victims' homes after the suspect broke in.
The suspect is in custody while police are filing with the Crown counsel for charge recommendations.
