Jepsen wins trio of Junos

The Mission singer won Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and Single of the Year

The Junos had Carly Rae Jepsen’s number.

The Mission singing sensation picked up her first three Juno Awards Sunday night in Regina, Sask. for Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and Single of the Year.

The 27-year-old, who was nominated for five awards, attended the ceremony in a yellow gown and white shoes. She thanked many people during her acceptance speech, especially her dad, who had accompanied her to the big event.

“This is truly a dream come true for me, if I could only explain how I feel,” said the evening’s big winner, who was at a loss for words.

Jepsen had beat out big names like Celine Dion and Justin Bieber, who gave her career a big boost, to win Album of the Year.

Jepsen also graced the stage performing a medley of her catchy pop tunes which have propelled her to international stardom.

The 2013 Juno Awards also saw acclaimed musician Leonard Cohen honoured with Songwriter of the Year and Artist of the Year.

Other big winners from the event included Serena Ryder for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Justin Bieber for Fan Choice Award.

Iconic singer-songwriter k.d. lang was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The event was hosted by Michael Buble, who paid tribute to the late Rita MacNeil.
