Hope RCMP are currently investigating two suspects after a man was assaulted by two men.
RCMP, including a canine unit, were at the Silver Creek Travel Centre Thursday afternoon (June 22) after being informed that the two men, one carrying a baseball bat and one suspected to be carrying a rifle, had fled into the forest in the surrounding area.
According to the police two suspects have been identified and are currently being investigated.
“We’ve potentially identified the suspects and are continuing our investigation to confirm that they are involved,” said Sgt. Mike Sargent. “The suspects took off and that’s why the Police Dog Service units, and a number of officers, were (at the Travel Centre) because they ran into the bush. The RCMP were tracking them down.
“But that part has been taken care of and we’re just continuing our investigation.”
