Homicide team investigates ‘suspicious death’ near Boston Bar

One person in custody; police don’t believe incident was random

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in after a dead body was found north of Boston Bar near Highway 1 Wednesday evening.

RCMP had been called to the area at around 7:45 p.m. following a report of a “suspicious occurrence.”

When they arrived they discovered the body.

One person was arrested at the scene and remains in custody, RCMP said in a release issued Thursday.

IHIT is working with Hope RCMP and the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit and are still in the early stages of gathering evidence.

However, they don’t believe the incident was random.

No other information has been released.
