UPDATE: Head-on collision east of Agassiz cleared

UPDATE: 3:06 p.m. 

Scanner traffic indicates Agassiz firefighters are clearing the scene and traffic is expected to resume normal patterns shortly. 


Original Story: 

A head-on collision was reported on Highway 7 near Seabird Island Road on Tuesday (May 20) afternoon just before 2 p.m. 

According to emergency scanner traffic, B.C. Ambulance Service is on the scene treating five patients. Agassiz and Seabird Island firefighters are on the scene, as are the Agassiz RCMP. 

Traffic is slowed down significantly in the eastbound lane; the westbound lane is currently clear.
