A GoFundMe account has been set up to help an Abbotsford family cope with the aftermath of a devastating accident Sunday afternoon at Foley Lake in Chilliwack.

Two young children, ages 9 and 10, died when a side-by-side ATV vehicle slipped off an embankment and tumbled 100 feet into the water.

Two adults from a family with the surname Dueck survived, along with a third child.

A woman named Sharalee Voth has set up the GoFundMe to help them through the toughest of times.

“While they begin the process of grieving we want to step up as a community and rally around them,” she wrote. “We would like to cover the funeral costs as well as provide them with enough that they can focus on healing while meeting their bills in the coming months.”

The GoFundMe goal is $25,000 and more than $2500 had been raised as of Tuesday afternoon.
