A popular Chilliwack restaurant was gutted by fire Saturday morning and adjacent businesses damaged in a blaze fire officials are saying is still under investigation.
The Bavarian Haus Restaurant in the 45000 block of Luckakuck Way was fully involved when firefighters from three halls began arriving at about 1:15 a.m.
The fire was so intense that walls were buckling and flames were spreading to neighbouring businesses. Firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading but the restaurant was completely destroyed. There is extensive water and smoke damage to the adjacent commercial units.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
