Early morning incident where car overturned on Chilliwack River Road had Chilliwack Search and Rescue (CSAR) members paged out in Chilliwack at 7:45 a.m. to assist RCMP and B.C. Ambulance personnel.

A car ended up overturned in a water-filled "ditch or pond" on the front lawn of a Chilliwack River Road home on Sunday.

The early morning incident had Search and Rescue members paged out in Chilliwack at 7:45 a.m. to assist on-scene, with RCMP and B.C. Ambulance personnel.

But the driver had already exited the vehicle and left the water when CSAR arrived. They went ahead with checking the bottom of the pond anyway.

"We checked the vehicle for additional occupants and there were none. We also checked in the pond and thankfully didn't find anything," said search manager Doug Fraser of CSAR.
