The new year ended badly for one Chilliwack motorist after her vehicle burst into flames just after noon on Dec. 31.
Firefighters were quick to extinguish the blaze, but damage to the Hummer2 was extensive.
Yale road was shut down briefly near Chilliwack middle school as firefighters hosed down the vehicle.
There were no reports of injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was helped to safety by passersby.
