It’s a small gesture with big heart.

Chilliwack and District Seniors’ Resources is honouring local seniors Friday (Oct. 1) for the second year in a row with an event in the parking lot beside Evergreen Hall next to the Cultural Centre.

“We will be hosting a free drive-thru breakfast for seniors on National Seniors’ Day,” posted Kelly Velonis, executive director of Chilliwack and District Seniors’ Resources Society.

The drive-thru runs 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from the side parking lot at Evergreen Hall.

“National Seniors’ Day offers us an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the important role older adults have in our community,” Velonis said.

Seniors are invited to take a little drive, enter off Corbould Street, into the parking lot line up, and pick up a bagged breakfast to enjoy. Organizers are aiming to serve at least 100 seniors.

Chilliwack Mayor Ken Popove will be among those serving, according to organizers.

“Hope to see you there.”
