Chilliwack Search and Rescue (CSAR) is looking for more volunteers to join its team.

They have a virtual recruitment info session set for Saturday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. where folks can learn more about the volunteer emergency rescue group.

“The info session will give attendees a chance to learn more about the team, what we do, and what we’re looking for in new members,” CSAR said.

Candidates must be 19 years of age or older to apply, live and/or work in Chilliwack, and be prepared to commit 300 hours a year (or more) to training, tasks and SAR activities.

“Come and meet a few of our team members, listen to a presentation, ask your questions and find out if this might be a fit for you.”

They typically only recruit new members every two years. Folks must register beforehand online.

Applications will be made available immediately following the info session.
