Chilliwack School District has closed Chilliwack schools for the fourth day since catastrophic flooding.

The message from district administration noted the school closures for staff and students include daycares, pre-schools, and community use of schools.

“In the midst of this challenging time, we hope you were able to enjoy some of the sunshine today,” according to the notice posted on the school district website.

“We continue to be concerned about the health and welfare of families, especially in Hope, Chilliwack, and Abbotsford, given the difficult circumstances impacting families in each of the communities. The District Senior team met this afternoon following the Premier’s Press Conference announcing a province-wide State of Emergency. After reviewing current emergency information, we will continue with school closures in Chilliwack to all students and staff (including daycares, pre-schools, and community use) on Thursday, November 18.”
