Chilliwack prolific offender arrested after four months on the lam

B.C.-wide warrant issued for David Allen Geoghegan in January

A local prolific offender often on the lam and wanted since January has finally been arrested.

Chiilliwack RCMP thanked the media and the public in a press release May 22 announcing the arrest of 28-year-old David Allen Geoghegan.

No further details were offered, including where he was arrested or under what circumstances.

Police had issued a statement about Geoghegan’s outstanding warrant four months ago on Jan. 18.

He was wanted for two counts of possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of fail to comply with probation, and fail to comply with undertaking.

He also faced warrants on two separate files. He was wanted on breaches connected to a possession of stolen property case back in 2017, and for a breach connected to an April 2018 file where he was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and flight from peace officer.

Geoghegan was wanted on a warrant and arrested back on Nov. 2, 2018 after a half-hour standoff with Mounties at a house at the corner of Williams Street and Gore Avenue.

Geoghegan has an extensive criminal record
