A Chilliwack man who was seen vandalizing a building was arrested thanks to an eagle-eyed citizen.
Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of a man allegedly spray painting a building in the 46000-block of Princess Avenue on Saturday, March 19 around 9:30 a.m.
Frontline officers quickly found and arrested the suspect – a 21-year-old man from Chilliwack. Police later released him from custody pending a future court date.
“An alert citizen immediately reporting an alleged act of vandalism to police directly led to the arrest,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail.
RCMP ask anyone who witnesses anything suspicious to contact police at 604-792-4611 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
