Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl is urging employers to fill out the paperwork now in order to hire youth under 30 next summer.

Intake of applications for the 2022 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is now open.

“I encourage not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses in our community to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” said MP Strahl in a release Dec. 16. “This program helps young people by providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.”

The Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program creates summer opportunities that provide valuable work experience for youth aged 15 to 30. These jobs help them gain the skills and experience they need to successfully join the workforce.

To get more youth working, employers including not-for-profits, and private-sector firms with 50 or fewer full-time employees in Chilliwack-Hope can apply for CSJ funding now until January 25, 2022, to hire young Canadians next summer.

To apply: Canada.ca/Canada-summer-jobs. Results will be announced April 2022.
