There are still a host of confused drivers who struggle with the multi-lane roundabout on Evans Road in Chilliwack.
That's part of the reason why a Roundabout Open House hosted by City of Chilliwack engineering is being held on Feb. 19 at Evergreen Hall.
City hall still gets calls from residents who are unsure of how to safely use roundabouts, as well as notice from insurance companies when collision claims are filed.
The goal of the open house next week is to help educate drivers and improve their performance in roundabouts.
So far Chilliwack only has one multi-lane roundabout. The others proposed for construction at this point are one-lane structures, but that could change.
Traffic volumes are what determine if a one-lane or two-lane circle will be built.
At the open house, attendees will be invited to peruse information boards mounted on easels around the room, and to look at aerial photos. They'll learn about some of the driving rules, pedestrian safety considerations, and multi-lane vs. single-lane roundabouts.
