Emergency crews were called to a shed fire in Vedder on Wednesday afternoon.

Dispatch received “multiple” calls for the fire on Morton Road, off Vedder Road around 12:45 p.m. on April 20. A child was also reportedly seen on the second floor of the house beside the shed.

When crews with the Chilliwack Fire Department arrived, they saw smoke coming from the shed in the backyard.

The child was in the arms of a young woman, according to fire crews. They later confirmed no one was inside the house.

The fire was knocked down within about 10 minutes of firefighters arriving on scene.
