Kids played free games like potato sack races and croquet, and enjoyed face painting. The Creative Outlet was among presenters on the small stage.

The Friday evening show is set to start at 6:30 p.m., with activities starting at 5:45. The fun wraps up at 10:30 p.m., at Townsend Park.

Put together again by Kevan Siggs, the “monster” fireworks show at 10 p.m. will be accompanied by the 25-piece Cascadia Wind Ensemble, creating Chilliwack’s own Symphony of Fire.
