An eight-year-old boy riding his bike to school Thursday morning was hit by a vehicle on Yale Road East.
Police said the boy was "conscious and aware of his surroundings" when paramedics arrived on the scene between Gibson Road and Upper Prairie Road shortly after 8 p.m.
"The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with police," RCMP Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said.
The boy was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital for further assessment, she said.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and a police investigation continues.
