The body of a missing Abbotsford fisherman was found just before 7 p.m. Tuesday near the juncture of the Fraser and Vedder Rivers.
The body of 24-year-old Christopher Vang was found by another fisherman and recovered by RCMP and Chilliwack search and rescue members.
"This has obviously been very devastating for the Vang family and they are asking for privacy at this time," Const. Tracy Wolbeck said in a news release.
Vang was swept away by the current on Sept. 12 while fishing on the Fraser River at the Peg Leg area, near McSween Road.
The BC Coroners' Office now has conduct of the investigation.
