UPDATED: Man, well known to police, found dead in Richmond

Body was found midday near the Fraser River

A man well-known to police was found dead in Richmond Thursday.

RCMP said the body of Gregory Joseph Scuby, 42, was found at about 11:15 a.m. by a passerby near the Fraser River in south Richmond.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Cpl. Frank Jang saysthe slaying does not appear gang related.

An autopsy is expected in the next few days.

“I urge those with information about Mr. Scuby’s murder to come forward and speak with IHIT,” Jang said.
