Yet another weather warning has been issued for the Fraser Valley, including Chilliwack. Arctic air is expected in the area beginning Tuesday afternoon, bringing high winds and frigid temperatures.

Wind chill values will drop throughout Tuesday, and could hit a low of -19C by the evening, with winds whipping through Chilliwack between 40 and 60 km/hr. That cold air and high wind is forecasted to stay in the area until late Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada issued the weather warning early Tuesday morning, for the Fraser Valley. An even stronger warning was issued for Abbotsford, where wind is expected to gust at 90 km/hr Tuesday afternoon, a result of a fresh surge of Arctic air. The warning was issued to prepare residents for possible damage from fallen trees or loose objects flying around.

There have already been several winter weather warnings in Chilliwack over the few weeks. In the longer range forecast, more snow and rain is expected to fall beginning on Saturday.
