A 33-year-old Agassiz man was found bleeding and unconscious late Saturday in an alleyway in downtown Chilliwack.

Chilliwack RCMP are now looking for witnesses to the assault, or anyone who may have other information about the incident.

“The serious crime unit now has conduct of the investigation, and are looking for anyone who may have been in the area of Empress Lane and Nowell Street during the hours of 7-9 p.m. Saturday evening, who may have witnessed the assault or an altercation,” Cpl. He was later taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster for further testing and observation.
