1 injured in targeted Burnaby shooting, RCMP say

Police looking for witnesses, video footage of the area around the time of the shooting

Burnaby RCMP is investigating a targeted shooting that left one person with injuries Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a possible shooting in the area of Kitchener Street and Madison Avenue in North Burnaby around 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 8.

When police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound, but "non-life-threatening injuries." He was transported to hospital.

Cpl. Mike Kalanj said the shooting appears to be targeted.

Police are looking for witnesses or anyone with information on the shooting. 

Witnesses or drivers with video of the area – surrounded by Carlton Avenue, William Street, Willingdon Avenue and Gravely Street – between 7 and 8 p.m. are asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999, quoting file 2024-34818.
